The author with his Kwiggle folding bike
I first encountered a Kwiggle folding bike, actually two when I must be precise, when I met Karsten Bettin and his wife at a party. I had noticed when arriving at the party that in the hall there were these two red folding bicycles that were so much smaller than any "normal" folding bikes that I had ever seen before.
That evening we didn't talk about the Kwiggle but later when I learned from mutual friends that he had invented this folding bike I wanted to know more about them. Being Dutch I biked my whole life but never had I ridden a folding bike myself so I was not really familiar with folding bikes.
As it turns out the Kwiggle folding bike is the most compact folding bike in the world and one of its distinguishing features is that it is hand luggage size. This means that it will fit everywhere, under seats, in overhead bins and everywhere else where you would normally stow your luggage.
This means that you can have it with you at all times. It is so unobtrusive that it is never an annoyance when you have it with you. Having a bicyle at your disposal at all times is just wonderful. You can be completely independent and enjoy this freedom of mobility to the fullest.
